They're not really free are they?

Absolutely! The tutorials are 100% free to anyone who has one. No fees and no obligations.

Who is the tutorial relevant to?

Anyone who wants to know more about how KiwiSaver actually works! Including if you:

  • Have been in KiwiSaver for years

  • Are thinking about joining

  • Are currently on a contributions holiday

  • Have used or intend to soon use your KiwiSaver for your first home purchase

  • Are self-employed

  • Were enrolled through your job/parents/bank

Who runs the tutorial?

The tutorial is offered by Jim Sandford, founder and director of Sandford Associates  (click for Disclosure).

Jim is a Registered Financial Advice Provider with over 35 years of business experience behind him.

He now specialises in helping people to understand how KiwiSaver works and how individuals

can set it up to work in their best interests.

How does the tutorial work?

We offer the tutorial either in person in the Christchurch region or via virtual meeting over the

internet if you are further afield.

For face-to-face we meet at either your home or my home office and I take you through my tutorial.

The tutorial takes about 30 minutes, a bit longer if you have more questions or want to make any

changes to your KiwiSaver that we can facilitate for you.

What do I need for a virtual-tutorial?

The virtual tutorial is best done on a laptop/PC/tablet but can be completed on your phone if these aren't an option.

You'll need a Google or Zoom account to set the meeting up.

Once we've agreed on a date and time we will send you an email invite.

If you have a Google Account (Gmail) we will use Google Meet. Once you accept the invitation the meeting will appear in your Calendar. Simply access the meeting from your Calendar and join from there at the scheduled date and time.

If you have a Zoom Account we can meet using the Zoom App. Again we will send an invite to a Zoom Meeting. You will be able to access the meeting from your Zoom App at the scheduled date and time.

Do I need to have my KiwiSaver information?

You'd be surprised by how many people don't even know who there KiwiSaver is with! So while it can be helpful to have it is not essential.
